CKNZ (formerly Oxford Deer) is New Zealand’s leading deer velvet exporter of NZ Deer velvet - the Te Awamutu-based operator sends a bulk of its product to China. In the past, CKNZ had used wooden bins but started to get pressure from Chinese clients for using chemically treated crates.
Deer velvet is also deemed a pharmaceutical ingredient, therefore hygienic transport was even more important – as wood commonly has issues with rotting and bugs.
DoubleEco’s cardboard crates proved to be the perfect solution.
They are chemical-free. They don’t harbour insects or mould. And they’re ideal for products that are transported frozen or chilled (such as deer velvet).
We added extra strength to handle a heavy load, plus we made the crates extra thick to reduce condensation en route. On top of that, we customised the crate dimensions to better fit the shipping container.
